Check the photo finish for 2nd/3rd in the petite final!

Less than a “bow ball apart” !

Sam and Barrett took 4th in the “petite final” which gives them 10th overall in the entire US!

Their time was 07:16:23 in a race that was very close for the first 5 positions.  Sam and Barrett were only 4 seconds behind first place in the “petite final”.

The winners overall (in the “grand-final”) were Miami Beach with a time only 20 seconds better than our guys.
 
Way to go guys!  We are SO proud!

SCHOOLS OUT FOR EVER! (well at least for the Summer anyway!)

Sounds of music and clapping and excited chatter here on Orcas. It’s grad night at the fun house! Your turn next year, except you’ll probably be back in Cincinatti again! But we are thinking of you guys. Good luck. Relax, row strong, straight and pretty. We are already VERY proud of you!

Sam and Barrett came 5th in their semi-final.

So they will not be going to the final.

Instead they go to the “petite final” to row for 7th-12th place overall.

Their “petite final”  is scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) at 9:12 a.m. which is 6:12 a.m. Orcas time. So you can check their results over brunch tomorrow.

It’ official. Sam and Barrett came first in their rep with a time of 7:09:07.
They are so in the semi-finals which are this afternoon.

Their semi is at 14:58 C’ time which is 11:58 Orcas time.

Because of the storms all racing is canceled for the rest of today and will resume in the morning. That includes our boys Repechage which will be sometime in the early a.m.

The repechage is delayed due to thunderstorms!!!!

We are actually 3 hours ahead, so our rep is at 12:49 pacific time.

Right now we have the 7th fastest time, so we have a very good chance of making semi’s.

It’s really hot here, about 90 degrees or hotter during the day.

To the Cincinnati “crew”: Great news about the repechage — way to go!! We’re all waiting with bated breath to see how it goes this afternoon. PULL HARD AND GOOD LUCK!

Barret and Sam got third place in their heat this morning.

They go to “Repechage” this afternoon and could still advance to semi-finals if they come within top 3 out of 6 in their Repechage. There are 2 Repechage . Six boats in each. Their heat time was the fastest of those (12) going to Repechage this afternoon.
